Hello, my name is Jo and I am Grooming the Damson Way…
You may recognise me from walking around Bidford with my dogs! I have experience in Veterinary Nursing and have been in the industry for over 20 years. My career derived from my love of animals, especially dogs. And although I recently decided to take a much needed rest from nursing, I still need my doggy fix!
I am now in the fortunate position of fulfilling one of my dreams, in owning my own grooming pod in my dog-friendly garden. I trained in South Warwickshire Grooming School and obtained my OCN Level 3 Qualification in 2021 and have had extra training in hand stripping.
I have always had dogs and have visited many groomers during my time, all great, but I have found that even my own (usually) very calm dog, Ted, was still a nervous wreck before and during the experience.
My years of veterinary work combines knowledge and compassion in identifying your dogs behavioural cues and in turn, their needs.
“It is my job to calm and connect with your dogs and make sure their experience is as relaxing and stress-free as possible.
We can take breaks, a mooch around the garden, some play-time and they can pee on the plants as much as they wish!”
My Qualifications
I was a qualified Veterinary Nurse and I also trained at South Warwickshire Grooming School and obtain my OCN Level 3 in Dog Grooming. I have also completed a course in Animal First Aid.
